news > Silversea’s discount cruises

In the luxury ship world, the six Silversea liners really are considered the tops of the tops – a fact confirmed by their positions in the listings of all of the leading American and international holiday and tourism magazines. Clearly, cruises on Silversea’s compact vessels do cost much more than on the hugely popular giant liners which accommodate between 2,000 and 5,000 passengers. But on Silversea’s fleet you’ll find yourself part of a small, select group, enjoy roomy suite accommodation and large public spaces not to mention superb service of a standard unthinkable on other lines.

The good news is that in the months of February, March and April, Silversea is offering deluxe cruises on certain routes at discounts of up to 60% on normal fares. The areas involved are Africa and Asia. Just to take one example, you could embark on Silver Shadow (28,000 tonnes, 400 passengers) on April 14th at Hong Kong and spend 12 days sailing to Tokyo via Taiwan, Shanghai, Nagasaki, Kagoshima and Osaka. That cruise will cost you 4,178 euro rather than the official price of 12,195 euro. Another example is the 10-day cruise departing from and returning to Cape Town in South Africa (March 2nd to 12th) with calls to East London, Maputo, Richards Bay, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Mossel Bay. You’ll be travelling aboard Silver Wind (17,000 tonnes, 300 passengers) and your holiday will cost 3,122 euro instead of the normal price of 8,495 euro.
